This was a great podcast! I feel I have learned a great deal of information about theory x,y, and z. Theory X style management can create a toxic environment and is not the best to employ in the workplace while theory y allows for a much smoother workplace style. Theory z is my personal favorite as it provides a collaborative workplace which can provide the best results of the three styles.

Great podcast about theory x, y, and z and management. Theory X managers will obviously get nothing accomplished but creating a toxic and unmotivated workplace — this is if employees even stay. Theory Y states aligning personal goals with company goals is brilliant.

This podcast provides an excellent description of the two contrasting sets of assumptions that managers make about their employees. By understanding these theories it helps managers influence their team. As a manager I incorporate theory Y into my approach as I encourage a collaborative environment and team approach.

I have enjoyed all of these podcasts. Very helpful and informative for anyone. I don’t agree with theory X micromanagement approach, personally hate it. I feel that many managers do this theory x who do not have management background.

MAN3420 - This is a must listen for any manager. This episode explains XYZ theory in good detail and provides multiple perspectives on management objectives. I will be researching the XYZ method more and hope to implement the Z theory with my team. Great post!

This is a great podcast for the different ways managers think and apply skills. I don’t agree on the theory X or a micro management approach. I give my staff a chance to show me what they can come up with or coach them in the right direction. I would say I am more of a theory Z type of manager.

It’s not always about money I feel that this is a big misconception. It’s about a mix and fininding a healthy work life balance. This is a great podcast for a speedy understanding of different management styles!

I don’t agree with a management style theory x. People are not just motivated my money. When you spend 8 plus hours a day at work, you need to like it. Managers should learn a management style like theory z because most employees are capable and like to be trusted. Your organization will thrive when there is a balance and the managers accept ideas from the employees and vise versa and when employees feel trusted and empowered.

Money should not be the organization’s primary motivation, and in most cases it is not sincerely the true motivation of individuals. The Bible expresses that, “the love of money is the root of all evil.” Furthermore, all business should be understood to have a greater purpose than simply obtaining money.

I believe a combination of Theory Y Management and Theory Z Management is a great approach. In both of these Management styles, you trust your employees. Theory Y represents Management thoughts on a higher level of employee motivation and functioning. In Theory Z workers are highly cooperative and possess a high degree of loyalty to their organization. -Rebecca Torres MAN3303
