If theory x consists of people that would rather stay in the background, theory y consists of people who would rather be in charge, and theory z is somewhere in the middle, then we know it takes theory xyz in order to run a business. If we only had the people from one of these theories, nothing would be accomplished.

Theory x describes that people do not like to work and will avoid work. Theory y describes that people want to work and want to achieve higher power. Theory z is to maintain cooperation at work. This helps managers and employees work together to achieve the organizations goals.

Jalecia Chambers MAN4442 I hope i am never operating like a theory x manager. I would really like to take some kind of test to find out which one I would be. It sounds like both x and y could lead to employees being unsuccessful. Z seems to be somewhere in the middle.

(Shion Simpson MAN 3240) This is a very interesting podcast. I don’t think people should only be motivated solely because of money. I believe theory z is the best option out of the three.

Managers should not exemplify theory X because it involves force and aggressiveness. Theory Y or Z are more reasonable for mangers to use towards their employees.

Using a Theory X style management will lead to an unsuccessful and unmotivated environment. Theory Y and Z are motivating to employees by giving them a higher level of responsibility, using trust and loyalty with employees. These two are the best options in management.

Theory X is a true example of what a manager SHOULD NOT do, or haven't we seen enough examples to know that micromanagement does not work?. Theory Y and Z are much better ways to approach employees and to successfully drive a company to better production.

I found this podcast to be informative when it comes to understanding what type of person you are as well as others in the workplace. Turns out I am a Theory z type of employee as I pour myself into everything I do. I feel that theory z people like myself are the ones that strive for growth.
