Great and timely reminders to managers in considering individual employees needs for the lack of social setting when working remotely and not receiving the face to face

Given the topic of motivation, I’m already a rather optimistic and positive person. So, having said that, I don’t really see myself having much difficulty transitioning that to the workplace. Even if the workplace is from home. On the other hand, in regard to setting/ monitoring goals and keeping employees “in the loop”... I believe that those areas would require some finesse and a more personal approach to convey, and not just solely relying on technology alone.

I never realized how stressful working from home could really be for an employee. My current employer does not allow work from home, so I have never tried. This episode really explained the challenges of working from home and how an employer's actions can lighten the stress load from an employee. If my employer were to consider allowing work from home opportunitues, I would definitely recommend the listen to this podcast first

Working from home can be a difficult as you noted but with these helpful points, managers can help their employees to transition well. I think this podcast was very informative and helpful. Would definitely recommend for my other managers at my job.

Working from home for me was enjoyable since I was able to spend more time with my dog. Wake up in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee and not in a rush. I started a new job when we were in quarantine, my supervisor was very supportive always reaching out to me to make sure there was anything I needed to complete my work. Always keeping me up to date with what needed to be done. As you mention Dr. Ricardo, employees should feel as part of the company by being informed of what is going around.

This podcast would be great for managers that just had to switch to having their employees work from home. Understanding that feedback requires balance to not have their employees feel micromanaged is a great tip! Allowing employees to know what is going to happen in the future as well as being there for your employees can help drive motivation and allow employees to still feel part of the team while being at home. I look forward to listening to all the other podcasts by Dr. Ricardo.

I have learned the importance on being supportive for employees working from home. I work from home all the time. I have done it for almost 10 years with two different companies. My supervisor keeps in touch with us often. She keeps that balance of communication to prevent the micromanagement mentioned in this podcast. Especially now, all our managers understand the importance of being supportive right now. They are available to us when we need to talk, whether it is work related or not.

I have been working from home part time due to Covid. I have really enjoyed it because I am able to do all of my work from home. I hope that I can continue this schedule in the future, because it is the best of both worlds. I am able to have the human interaction with my fellow employees half the week, and enjoy my time at home the other half of the week. Great post!

I have been working from home for the last four years and really enjoy it, and the main reason is because my organization really embraces these ideas. My manager is always in constant communication and gives me feedback to better perform my tasks.

Working from home. I wish my supervisor had the opportunity to listen to this podcast. Working from home was very stressful but I was grateful of having a job and now I’m happy of being back home. Good post!
