I have never had the true experience to be able to work from home but working as a assistant secretary in a pool company, my colleague who is the secretary works remote. While she’s working remote I can see how difficult it can be sometimes as it even affects me having to send out and receive things that would normally be done in the office on her part. My dad works as the plant manager and he’s always in contact with her to see how she’s doing. I’d say that with work ethic it can be done.

In order to feel my most productive, I would shower and dress as if I was going to work! I would have to set myself hourly goals based around email numbers to ensure I was productive! This podcast has great advice for both employee and manager.

Working from home can be challenging. I experienced this during the pandemic. A customer service job containing answering phones and emails would seem easy, however, I did struggle some! I felt as my management had no understanding of me having a one-year-old child that I did not feel comfortable sending to daycare.

To relay messages but removes the human element of communication. Verbal communication is great because it allows an open platform to discuss ideas with coworkers. Managers can provide motivation to their employees at home by being encouraging. Setting and monitoring goals is pivotal for management to keeping your employees on task. Employee evaluation is also important as it allows the employer to review the efficiency of their employee working from home.

Awesome Podcast!! So I learned a few things in this one! Change is scary && with everything going on right now, working from home is pretty difficult. There are ways to keep your employees happy and to keep them motivated, work with your employees and set goals, always encourage them and leave them with feedback, but don’t micromanage because employees need to feel valued for the business to run smoothly.

Another great podcast! I learned that managers could keep workers motivated at home by communicating in an encouraging way. Letting your employees know that you are there for them and that you are aware of their sacrifices will help employees stay positive. Feedback is another awesome way to keep employees motivated. Managers are the key to employee success.

Being an avid podcast listener, I had some expectations...and they were broken! I enjoyed the topic of conversation in this episode and can take away some of these ideas to bring into my own life. We all have to do our best working remotely because no one is sure when we can return to normal.
