You are right- Working at Home is helpful for showing empathy to employees who are directed to work from home. To strengthen mutual understanding and needed support within the employee-employer long-distance relationship, it is good to verbally acknowledge the challenges that working from home entails. It is also wise to consider the amount of support being given to the employee because giving too little or giving too much support could be unhelpful to employee productivity.

I completely agree it’s very important for managers to encourage their team however, some managers and supervisors they only care about themselves nothing else. Communication it’s really important, sometimes we need a words of encouragement to help workers motivated specially when working from home. You lock yourself in a room no one to talk with, but knowing that you have someone to motivate you it’s really helpful.

Working from home has become a new norm for a lot of us. To make this transition easier I feel like the manager should do their best to motivate employees and give more feedback as they would have in the workplace.

Being encouraging is so important! I definitely agree that making yourself available to your employees and checking in to see if they need anything is important! I love the idea of giving feedback but not too much. Keeping everyone in the loop is awesome too.

Manager feedback is so powerful! Not just feedback but also just insight. For example, when my manager and I end a team meeting, she will ping me on Slack and say what did you think about the meeting? She expresses that she values my insight. She then shares her analysis which helps me grow and see things I did not see before. The encouragement is everything as Professor Ricardo stayed. The empathy for the individuals situation, be it kids at home, etc.

This episode is great for managers who have employees working from home. It will also be good for professors because students like myself aren’t use to online classes. Students sometimes get discouraged when they are not in a classroom with a passionate professor teaching them about the subject. It is important that professors provide feedback on assignment and reassure the students know that they available.

This podcast is really good. The main points I got from this were that it is important for managers to support their employees through feedback and asking if they need any help but to not micromanage them and kill their productivity. With business becoming more remote many of us are learning how to work from home and be productive.Without constant direction and guidance managers will need to be more aware and learn how to communicate effectively with their employees.

This episode broadened my perspective into my current situation, working from home. You gave the tip for managers to encourage employees by communicating with them and giving them positive feedback. With my current employer, my manager has done just this by creating weekly phone call check ins. In these check ins, the accounting team gets together and goes over any issues they had in the previous week. This helps us still feel like a team while working remote!

This first episode really gave helpful tips on how to stay positive while working from home. After I listened to it, I showed my dad and he really enjoyed it. He’s a manager for a company and it gave him ideas on how to keep his employees motivated and how he should try and give them more feedback.

Great way to start off really thinking about the way your employees think about working from home. As a manager keeping your employees engaged during these times have been difficult. I will use this podcast as a lesson to move forward by motivation.
