That was such a informative podcast! It really broke down how it explained communication and how positive feedback is very important when running a joyful and successful business. When there is not leadership and slacking off in management it will effect the staffs performance and attitudes towards the job. Management is the biggest factor in a successful team.

Miceli - MAN4442. It’s important to have that open line of communication between managers and coworkers to keep that motivation and drive when working from home. I find it extremely helpful to have words of encouragement from my manager! There are so many distractions when working from home, so knowing that my manager sees my effort is helpful. I do also agree with setting goals to keep on track and maintaining good work ethic and time management.

Balance is key. This episode illustrates how a sector of communication, feedback, can have an essential role within staff interactions. Properly emphasized that to much can be perceived as micromanagement. Whereas, not enough can lead to unhappy staff ultimately becoming under productive. Management will play key role in maintaining optimal communication.

When setting a goal, I need to remember to define how the goal will be achieved, how will it be performed, how well I monitor myself, and how long I will need to accomplish this goal. Short term goals can be weekly and long-term goals can be monthly. I would like to set time to create a list for my long and short term goals. If I fail my goals, I cannot be too hard on myself, instead I will receive constructive feedback and will need to stay positive to achieve my next goal.

This podcast was superb especially give the time we are all in where lots of us have moved to remote. Mangers can be encouraging and communicate more then usual. I think it’s important for meetings to require cameras to be on. Seeing each other helps with loneliness but it also helps to continue to nurture and grow relationships and it helps us see body language.

Having encouraging managers would create a much more positive environment and give employees the motivation to continue working. Working from home is a challenge to many employees, so having a manager that is willing to show support at this time is very important. Keeping the employees calm and stress-free while motivating them will give them the opportunity to get the job done. Having set goals will help many employees stay on task.

The importance of motivation is critical to keep them on task even while doing homework or studying. I feel like I am more productive in a different environment that is not at home. I had you for an online class with you in the summer. I know irsc was not open for face to face back then. How did you like working from home?

I enjoyed your podcast. Nice touch on the intro. Working from home can sometimes be tedious specially if your new to the whole concept of working remotely. I’ve presented with the option to work from home but turned it down because liked you explained the human interaction allows us to bounce ideas of each other. I personally feel that I perform better working at the office. I don’t have kids but I can only imagine trying to find a quiet place in house.

Evolution and adaptation is key in this world we live in. Without both of these people around the world would not be able to make the necessary changes to keep businesses going and the economy growing. COVID-19 was the unfortunate cause that effected billions of people earth wide and forced many to work from home. Ideally working from home is not for everyone but with the correct encouragement from management it can get done. Managers need to be understanding and helpful to employees now.
