This podcast goes along with the saying that “Bad association spoils useful habits”. If the environment you associate yourself with is no good you are bound to be influenced by that environment and your personality/habits will reflect just so. While if the environment you are in is positive, your behavior will reflect that. I personally like a challenging environment that is positive because it adds to the person I am and would like to be.

I found this podcast to be very insightful especially when Dr. Ricardo stated “the size of your thinking is formed by your environment.” I believe this to be completely true, growing up my dad would always tell me that if I surround myself with negative people I will become a negative person. To this day I find it important to remove myself from situations where I am surrounded by people who do not have similar intentions and goals as me.

Most of us spend our entire lives without exactly defining what we want to do with our life, what we want to be, and our life purpose. We have to start by changing our thoughts to change your life. Stay away from negative environment that can have an effect in your life. Recite your goals out loud on daily basis and you will be attracted by the opportunities you need to achieve your goals.

This was a great episode! I enjoyed the concept of mind food and how much it shapes us. This especially hit me when the question was raised about what habits or preferences we actually developed on our own, although I would argue we can develop some on our own, but it is difficult to find a current example. I do feel it’s important to take what we can from our environment and “feed” our mind the best we can in order to BE the best we can.

I would argue we can go out to a store and buy mind food. You can purchase a book on something that could influence you just as much as people in your environment! But I do agree that the majority of our mind food comes from our environment and we have the choice to make that environment beneficial or not.

The similies established between mind nutrition and body nutrition couldn't be any more true. The state of your mind directly reflects the state of your body. The environment you grow in has an immense influence on your performance. No matter how well fed or rested you can be, you can't truly reach you highest level of performance if you find yourself in a environment full of distractions.

The attitudes that we carry all stem from our perceptions of occurrences in our daily lives. We take the good with the bad, but the bad will seem good if we make the best of it. This can be done by surrounding yourself with positive thoughts and people. This will lead to you thinking positively about everything that comes your way. The mind is very powerful, and if you think happy, you will live happy.

Simply put you are a product of your environment. You learn from what's around you and this most noticeable with children. My nephew does everything just like his father. If his dad does so does he. If his walks in a room and hugs the ladies and shakes the men's hand so is he. This segment also reminds me of what my grandmother called Tv's ... idiot boxes. Feed your mind by surrounding yourself with positive things. Learn something new

Thalia Tobon - MAN3240 This podcast episode was great to listen to at this moment in time, especially how crazy this year has been. In the podcast, I learned that change is not always a bad thing. Change is a chance to upgrade and view things in a different perspective. Feeding yourself mind positivity is the only way to reach your own success in your life. As it was stated in the podcast, our environment shapes us but it is our job to make our own choices and think positively.
