MAN 3303 - I never knew there was a thing such as job design. I feel that it is a better idea to use a job design when interviewing employees to see if they are a better fit for the company instead of going by a job description.

This is so true when you have a manager that give you ownership of getting the work done, I do not like to be micro managed and I like the fact at my job my manager leaves most decision up to me such as coming up with ideas changes in the department, coming up with new plans to make the business better, becasw of my experience of being with the company I do like the ownership and it makes you work harder

It is important to put the right people in the right positions. As people well excel doing tasks they are more capable or passionate about doing. It will keep work efficient and bring more creativity for business growth. A leader should be able to trust the person he places in a role to complete tasks as best as possible.

This podcast mentions the importance of getting the perfect fit between employees skill set and the job assignment. With the successful completion of a task, the employees moral and confidence will increase. Combined with the expansion of the scope of work, the employee will feel more like an important piece of the company team and take pride in the position and each task. This may increase productivity and have a spillover effect to other workers in the workplace. Episode 2 job design

I like the podcast, the more inspired the employee is, the more work he or she has, and this can lead to job satisfaction and improved productivity. The podcast is really inspiring to learn how to develop a work that creates interaction with employees.

I have been with an organization who strongly believe in empowerment. However, there isn't much for job design as the tasks are very specific for how the health plans want things to be. However, being able to have a job that can fit the employee can really help them grow and feel comfortable enough to take on new tasks.

Garrett Klemm (MAN3240)- (extra credit) I’ve always enjoyed having autonomy with my job role because I can customize it to my own personality and strengths/weaknesses. I agree that repetitive operations of a specialized task can make it more efficient, which will lead to growth. Being emotionally connected to a job role is very important for increasing the motivation to perform. Repetitive success will build trust with managers, which will make the employees trust their job more.
