MAN3240- Before this episode, I never had heard of Dali Lama. In the past 8 months of working remote, I have felt rather unhappy in general, there are limited social activities being stuck in the house all day and each day feels the same. Outside of the pandemic, I would say I was quite happy with my life. In an effort to be happy, I have taken up some new hobbies, enjoyed my time with family and spent more time doing things I like - it is more than the physical though, happiness is believing.

I feel like happiness is the greatest goal in life. Who likes being unhappy? It is truly hard to be happy when you are living through hardship. Everyday the constant thought of that just blocks everything else out. It is important to understand though that being happy comes from within you. How you view the world around you has a big impact on how you feel,not only your physical conditions. It is good to try to keep a positive mindset so even in the hardest times you still have a sense of hope.

I need to start asking myself what makes me joyful. I would like to try to make a list of what makes me joyful so that I can be more positive daily. It can lead to me being happier every day when I remember the little things that do bring me joy.

MAN3303 - My happiness has definitely been affected working in a hospital the last 6 months. This podcast made me think about how I could improve my overall happiness by using the ways of the Dali Lama and changing my perspective. Doing things outside of work that make me happy have helped me stay positive and thankful even during stressful times.

This episode is very relevant because of the pandemic we are experiencing right now. I’ve been trying to find ways to make this situation that we are in positive and now that I’ve heard this podcast I know how to do that. Putting myself into situations that make me happy and create a happier environment will make it easier to relax.

Finding happiness even when their hardships can condition our minds to see the world in a different angle. Being happy is an overall feeling and can change others perspective to see things in a positive way. Is it is important to convey happiness in all areas in our lives. I think that it is a great way to think we’re living every day today. Waking up happy and in a great mood can change our environment and bring peace.

I really enjoyed this podcast. It really put it into perspective that feeling happy is a choice! Its a way of thinking, the way we view things, and a habit we must cultivate. Although the things we are facing in life may have us question, "what is there to be happy about?", it is up to us to find the good in every situation. Barbara Creasy-extra credit-Happiness in the workplace is important to being a successful employee. As mentioned we cannot be happy all the time however, in most instances there is something in a moment to be happy about. Learning how to find the good in a bad situation will help to find solutions to events that may seem unfixable. A positive attitude opens us up to potentials which includes solutions.
