Sharpening the saw has turned in to my favorite habit after understanding the true meaning of it. Every time I meditate I am sharpening the saw of my mind and growing as a person. -Mathew Spinosa

Covey Uses an emotional bank as an example of what we bring and take out of our own lives. When we treat people kindly we deposit a strong positive deposit into their Lives. When we take in all the negative we are bringing ourselves down. The more positive reflections will bring in our lives and environment, we win as individuals. My favorite quote was “seek to understand and not to be understood“.

Habits 4-7 move us further from Independence to Interdependence. It's all about how we can be effective with our relationship and interactions with others. I must say that Habit 5 really opened my eyes and reading about it in the book truly inspired me to develop this Habit. Seek first to understand, then to be understood is a powerful concept. We have to learn how to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Highly recommend the book! -Rebecca Torres MAN3303

Barbara Creasy-extra credit-Reflection is a very important step in achieving your goals. It takes time to go back and sometimes it can feel like a low priority but it matters. I once asked someone why can’t we just move forward, the reply was even when we drive a car, we still look in the Rearview mirror. That is reflection.

Habit 4 is Win-win, Habit 5 is to seek first to understand than to be understood, habit 6 is to synergize, and habit 7 is to sharpen the saw. This podcast reminds me that working on our mental conditions is important as well as getting proper rest and practicing self-care. I will apply these habits in my personal life and professional career.

I am glad Dr. Ricardo did a part 2 of explaining the 7 habits because I feel like these habits are very applicable to real life. Emotional deposits is a great way of depicting how we treat others, being nice is needed in order to create healthy relationships. Habit number 5 is probably the most important because listening can lead to less conflict and help us to understand others.

MAN4442 EP 6 It is simpy a common courtesy to give compliments and it is good business if you expect to have a win win situation. We must learn to listen intently in order to prove our working together concept. We are a team unit. I also agree that we need to take care of the mind body and soul by feeding them clean nutritional value. This assures an improvement in overall conditioning.

I find this idea very important I believe my life will be more fruitful if I take the time to eat and to sleep but the thing is as a single parent working two full time jobs school and kids it’s not easy. Yes the jobs are good to help my family and to pay my bills but I have to take time and energy to help myself to.
