If there are things we want in life and wanna be successful, we have to view life as a non-judge mental environment. We also have to be mature and be independent from childhood to adult hood. There are some things in the world we do not understand and we have to be proactive and take personal responsibilities for them. We have to make decisions in our own lives and what we decide to make of it.

I really enjoyed listening to this podcast because I actually got to read the book "The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People". The first three habits are: Being Proactive, Begin With The End In Mind, and Putting first things first. I feel like these are all habits we can incorporate in our lives in order to obtain a better way of living. Focusing on the things we do have control over and learning how to be proactive rather than reactive is key. -Rebecca Torres MAN3303

The most important concept I have learned is to focus on my circle of influence. Becoming good at this will help me throughout my life in absolutely every area. I also find the difference between reacting and responding helpful because it helps me identify when I react to something rather than respond. The last thing I learned is to be proactive. Ideas do not manifest themselves into something real without physical intervention.

Barbara Creasy-extra credit-I read this book over the summer for another course. At the outset I thought the book would have simple steps to accomplish every day. I was surprised that there were steps to follow everyday however, they are not simple. It requires reflection and making changes in our self. Not easy and not simple but great ways to become more efficient in all areas.

I had the chance to read Steven Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This book is a great way to self-reflect and improve in various areas of your life. This podcast captures the importance of the book and helps me to work on ways to strive for continuous improvement. Focusing on the areas of our life that involve the things we can control will make us more proactive and an overall more effective person.

Being proactive is needed in order to improve ourselves. Self change and evolution is a progressive aspect of life that is every changing. Stephen Convey’s 7 Habits seems like a very interesting book that I will check out as I am constantly looking for ways to better myself. The habit of “putting first things first” is something that I need to work on in order to be more organized and prioritize things going on in my life.

MAN4442 Ep 5. Self assessment is how we can manage personal growth. Learning how not to make judgment without having all of the facts and owning our own failings by acknowledging our faults are the key for me. Many fail at this. Put your energy into areas that you have more control. Have to add that one to my personal bank.

Very informative, before knowing the facts, I learned not to make decisions without knowing the truth. As human we are so quick to make judgments, we can draw preconceived assumptions about the way somebody looks. I think every habit is necessary to make us a better person.

After listening to this podcast and reading a few comments I will definitely get this book. Great reminder that time is limited so we must stay productive! Our work defines us so we must do our best!

(Garrett Klemm MAN 3240 extra credit)- Perception is very powerful while making assumptions of people, so I try to be unbiased. Personal responsibility is important for becoming independent and having the ability to learn from mistakes. Sometimes it’s the best way to learn. Blaming other people for a personal failure seems unhealthy and it could lead to even more failures. I think prioritizing duties based on levels of importance is very important for making a person more productive. Great post
