This podcast was amazing. I have seen theory x first hand with my first job. When a employee was not trusted by there manager so they used self discipline tactics to make them work harder when in reality all it did was make them feel worse about the situation. If you want someone to work harder you encourage them as well as complimenting there hard work so they feel cared in the work environment. I would allow my employees to be creative and encourage them to always think outside of the box.

This is a really interesting theory! I haven’t heard it before listening to it today. Theory X seems like management at jobs I’ve had or you get when you’re right out of college. If you have a management style where you just assume most people are lazy and don’t have drive or creativity in an organization, I believe you’ll create an environment just like that. In theory Y, managers and employees are more trusting and relaxed which creates a much more effective team. I’d love to hear more!

This was an interesting topic to me, I've never heard of Theory XYZ but I do believe that I've worked for each of these types of leaders in my life. I would not want to work for a Theory X manager, because it makes for a negative work environment. I feel that Theory Y or Z are the best because managers and employees are working together in a positive aspect for the best interest of the employer.

(Mariah Canright MAN3240) Theory X seems to be how most of my past managers see most people. I have had employers who believe that I am working hard becuase I have done something wrong. which is wrong. mirocmanagement is such a toxic work enviornment and it is difficult for a person to have innovation and creativity.

This podcast discusses the XYZ theories of management. Theory X management does not trust their employees and uses threats for the work to be done. Theory why management trusts, supports, and helps their employees achieve their goals. These employees are eager to work and take responsibility. Theory Z management work together with their employees and our coaches. Their employees are highly cooperative and loyal to the organization.

(Garrett Klemm MAN 3240 extra credit)- Theory x is an interesting insight that I sort of agree with. Most people are lazy without proper motivation. Theory Y seems very helpful for learning how to stay motivated, and how to motivate others. Being softer with punishment seems to be an easier way to gain results. Being harsh can create hostility which would negatively affect work relationships. As a manager I would allow employees to be creative. Thank you for the great information.
