MAN3303- Having good Self Esteem I feel is always a work in progress. Having a good support system is a great tool to build your self esteem. Helping others can also build your self esteem. This podcast definitely gave me tips on building my self esteem.

I actually did not know what Self Efficacy was before this podcast, I’m glad I do understand it now. I especially like the distinction between internal and external locuses of control, as it seems to boil down to personal perspective. If someone stops and takes the time to process a situation and use rational thought, they could develop a better internal locus of control. Of course this is easier when one has high self-esteem, which is most likely why these two concepts compliment each other

After hearing the podcast it was clear that I am someone who has low self-esteem. Thankfully, I now know of ways I can work on myself. As stated in the episode, "The best way to increase your level of self-esteem is to surround yourself with positive individuals and people who support you." I think it's important that we take a look at our circle and see what they are feeding us and making necessary changes if needed. -Rebecca Torres MAN3303

The podcast discussed self-esteem, self-efficacy, and self-monitoring. In order to keep a high self-esteem and self-efficacy we need to self-monitor. Internal and external locus of control is helpful in determining how much control we have over circumstances. The way we respond to external factors helps determine our self-worth and capabilities.

This podcast helps me to understand how-self esteem and self-monitoring helps us to focus on the control we have over ourselves, situations, and emotions. Self-worth is an important measure in how we feel about ourselves. Surrounding yourself with positive people will keep you uplifted and a sense of feeling equal. We should focus on what we can control versus what we cannot control.

We just have to taje baby steps to show growth and remove that doubt. It is important that we show empathy to those with low self esteem because an insult can leave to harmful consequences. Self worth is dependent on our individual self-esteem. People who have high self-esteem are open minded as they feel their self worth is high. Low self-esteem individuals do not feel they have high self worth. Improving our self-esteem is the only way to increase self worth. We must have supportive friends and remove ourselves from toxic individuals/environments. This episode helped me to understand the connection between self worth and self-esteem!

Self esteem is vital for a person. Having higher self esteem is for the most parts better as you will have confidence and not acknowledge what anybody else thinks. Surrounding yourself around like minded people can help boast your self esteem. Helping others can also help. It is important to be confident in the things you do and say.
