What really stood out to me in this podcast is that it doesn't matter what field you're in, all of our jobs have a level of excellence and the key is to find it and achieve it. "Excellence is a way of life that sustains us and inspires us day to day." Doing things with Excellence and giving it our all, makes all the differences and that's applicable to every area of our lives. -Rebecca Torres MAN3303

America’s businesses focus More on the quantity rather than quality. That is where Japan has come up top and creating quality specially in the automobile industry. Excellence can come in different ways. It can, simply listening to ideas taking advice, doing the small things, helping others. Excellence is not a destinations, like Professor Ricardo mentioned, it matters how we act now, the present. We make excellent what we want to be.

Cont’d... follow in Japan’s footsteps and strive for excellence in quality first, bottom line second.

Wow, just wow... Having listened to this made me realize just how different America is in terms of striving toward excellence, especially in the automotive industry. I know that our companies care more about the bottom line as opposed to quality of product. But I guess it’s a way of keeping more people employed. Build the product so it lasts for a certain amount of time. Then when repairs are finally needed, that’s when you hire a mechanic to repair it. So, I really believe that America

Achieving excellence is never easy to pursue and accomplish. It is a quality that people really appreciate, but hard to arrive to. Everyone needs to focus on a level of excellence, regardless of the career. A way to achieve it is by focusing on developing people and focusing on product quality versus focusing on “numbers.” Disney is a great example of a company achieving excellence, from its customer service reps to the princesses, they all follow strict guidelines to ensure that the

This was great to learn about how Japan had an effect of the US markets. Focusing on people who make the products is important and the search for excellence is how foreign manufactures became a competitor. Fixing the problem with kindness is Excellence. Effort is required from everyone. Great information.

MAN4442 EP 13. I thought this was convoluted. I took from this to expand my conversation points and attentiveness. To be prepared. Customer service and customer interaction is importang. We all need to be team players and understand that excellence is a consistent way of life. We strive for efficiency and effectiveness daily.

(Garrett Klemm man3240) it’s always interesting to learn the positives things that the U.S does to make it successful. I agree that people who listen and go the extra mile to help people is a great example of excellence. I should try to over-prepare for situations so that I don’t fail. There are a lot of factors that contribute to excellence so I need to be consistent with making the right choices in my everyday life. Great post!

This is a great episode, and a good perspective we should always keep in mind that. I heard before that in America an idea is created but in Japan it was brought to excellence, this is so much easier to understand after hearing this episode. Excellence is a choice made everyday and not a final destination.
