I learned that energy is the most important of the nine characteristics listed in this episode because energy is how you, as a manager, convey your attitude towards your job and organization, which will either motivate or discourage your employees. High energy and passion for your job will cause a domino effect on the people who work under you and will motivate them to have a passion for their job as well.

My mother has always told me to go to bed thinking of how well the next day is going to go. That in order to suceed we need to be leading the next day before we go to bed. I am a strong believer in leading by example, especially as a parent. So many people ask me why my daughter (age 2) wears her mask so well in public, I simply say that she follows everything I do. It is very important to remember that employees will folow your lead as a person with authority that has respect.
